Crosby S-421T Wedge Sockets are high-performance wire rope terminations designed to secure the "dead end" of a wire rope. These sockets utilize a unique design that secures the tail of the wire rope to the wedge, eliminating the potential for wedge loss or "punch out" while removing the need for an extra piece of rope for installation.
The socket basket is constructed from cast steel and is individually magnetic particle inspected to ensure structural integrity. These terminations offer an efficiency rating of 80% based on the catalog strength of XXIP wire rope.
Standards Complied:
ASME B30.26: Meets or exceeds all requirements including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load, and temperature.
ABS Type Approval: Certified in accordance with ABS 2007 Steel Vessel Rules 1-1-17.7 and ABS Guide for Certification of Cranes.
Federal Specification: Meets performance requirements of RR-S-550D, Type C.
